A,B,C

Andrew suprised the poop out of me today. Coincidentally it was while I was changing his diaper. He out of the blue started singing the A,B,Cs!!! I had no idea he knew this song. He sang it so clearly and even hit the notes! He got all the way up to l,m,n,o,p and then finished the song with the end of Twinkle twinkle. I AM SHOCKED.

Of course, he is kind of obsessed with letters right now. We got this incredible video, The Letter Factory, about 6 weeks ago. It is a really fun video that teaches the sounds of the letters. I only bought it because I needed a VHS tape for our upstairs tv, and I thought I might as well get something that will be good for several years. I never in a million years thought he would start learning his letters and the sounds that they make. Now when he sees a word, he starts saying the sounds of the letters that he sees. And yes, he recognizes about 20 of the letters...not always what the letter is called, but he knows the sound that it makes.

Thank heavens he doesn't know his colors. I think I'll save that so he has something to learn in pre-school. Oh, who am I kidding? A stay-at-home kid? He'll spend all his time learning to socialize :)
