Andrew makes me cry just about every day...not with sadness, but with sheer cuteness. He has started singing. I LOVE IT. He started with Twinkle, Twinkle, because that is what we sing every night before bed. But it has branched out to so many other songs. I wish I could record him singing, so you guys could hear it. It is the sweetest sound on earth. He gets this soft, higher pitched little singing voice. Then he just kind of murmers in that sweet voice until he hits a word he knows and then sings that. God love him. (speaking of God, when we say the Lord's prayer before bed, he now says Amen at the end...to hear that word in his little voice...makes me cry all over again)
He also requests songs for me to sing now. Our number one request? Elmo's World. Yea (please note sarcasm). Of all the cute kids songs in the world, that is my son's favorite.
I was playing classical music this morning, and a beautiful song came on (I wish I could remember which one). Andrew looked up from his breakfast and said "violin". I about crapped my pants. How did he know those were violins playing? I don't remember teaching him that! So I promptly agreed and asked him how you play a violin. He kind of vaguely moved his arms around...he doesn't really know that...he just knows what one sounds like?!?!? So I taught him how to play air violin. You may not know this, but I play a MEAN air violin.
And finally...my mom and I went out to dinner tonight, and on our way into the restaurant, we passed a parked car that was blasting pop music out of it. Andrew let go of my hand and started GROOVING, right there on the sidewalk. He does this ALL THE TIME, whenever there is music with a good beat. He just can't help himself from dancing. He bounces his knees, swings his hips, and moves his arms around. You just laugh until you cry when you watch it. And he is so SERIOUS when he does it. And there is no way to get him to stop until he is through. He must dance!
